GPS Vehicle Tracking

Vehicle tracking and telemetry.  It's the new buzz word and is being bandied about in almost every industry related to transport; along with government departments who want to use GPS vehicle tracking data for taxation purposes, and insurance companies who, rather late off the starting block, are beginning to realise that knowing where to find a vehicle really does help to get it back after it has been stolen.

AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) systems, the main subsection of the GPS vehicle tracking industry,  fall into two broad categories.  

i. After theft recovery systems that are designed to be used only when the vehicle has been stolen, triggering vehicle tracking only for the necessary time requried to get the vehicle back and...

ii. Fleet management systems, providing businesses with detailed reports on the vehicles, their journeys, and the conditions they have been used under. Likewise the equipment falls into two major categories. 

Cheap and cheerful: Japanese or Chinese imports that are cheaply manufactured with low quality components for non critical applications.

Proper: Well made, British or European GPS tracking units that are sourced from a range of devices, each one selected to provide a range of services - which is right for you?
